Writing Camps for Kids

The Camp program will focus on two major themes: first, building the desire and confidence to write, and second; giving children the tools with which to accomplish the task. Parents will be invited to share in the writing experiences on Friday and the children's work will be on display at that time. To effectively nurture creativity, class sizes will be limited to twelve children and students will be given at home assignments to enhance the learning experience.

Creative Writing: Ages 9 - 11

This class will provide a non-threatening environment that will stimulate and nurture creative expression. Many of the activities will be done orally in an effort to create a positive experience for the child not yet fluent in their penmanship skills. Through the use of lively, interactive games and activities we will explore the beauty and riches of the written word, reaching beyond the mechanics of writing, and delighting in the art of invention.
