Championship Chess and Creative Arts In Action have joined forces to present a systematic and fun way to build your chess skills.
 
 
Chess Lessons

Chess lessons are available at Creative Arts In Action. We offer both group and individual lessons, both are very affordable.

Individual lessons for adult and juniors are available at the rate of $35 per hour. Lessons are scheduled at times convenient for you.

Group lessons for Beginners through Advanced are available on Thursday mornings at the Creative Arts Center — see our fee schedule below.

Chess

 

 
Championship Chess 

Beginner: Ages 7 years and above. This class is for students who are new to the game of chess.

Intermediate / Advanced: 10 years and above. This class is for students with prior Chess experience. 

Class Time: 1 hour. This is a 14 week one semester class totaling 14 hours of class time. 

Evaluations to see what class the student would fall into can be done at our Chess Club Meetings. 

** Class Fee includes bi-weekly Club Play Fees on the second and fourth Saturday during the semester only. (Closed for Thanksgiving)

Bio of Coach Jim Dingemanse:

Jim Dingemanse is a chess coach and director for Championship Chess of DFW. He started playing chess in middle school and was a member of the Ralston Middle School Chess Club. He went on to play tournaments in college and has become active again over the past couple years. His passion is to coach children to play chess, teach them how to think ahead and gain many other benefits from learning chess. Jim has studied under Head Coach Steve Schneider, who is the author of curriculum, chess coach for over 25 years and a former classroom teacher. Jim has been involved with many youth programs in church and recently Boy Scouts, where his son just obtained Eagle Scout.
