Championship Chess and Creative Arts In Action
have joined forces to present a systematic and
fun way to build your chess skills.
 | Open Chess
Play - Second & Fourth Saturdays 10:00am -
12:00pm. Open to all ages and skill
levels. |
You are also certain to find new friends at our
chess club.
Parents: Your child is welcome at the Creative
Arts In Action Chess Club. Chess is not just a game
but a mental sport. The equipment is
inexpensive, and the skills it helps develop are
invaluable to any child. Most of the world's
greatest Grandmasters learned chess in their
youths. As a chess player, your child will learn
to concentrate, be less impulsive, and
develop problem solving skills. As
players progress, they must tap into higher
level thinking skills. Skills which can
translate into increased academic performance,
concentration, and critical thinking.
Jim Dingemanse is a chess coach and director for Championship Chess of DFW. He started playing chess in middle school and was a member of the Ralston Middle School Chess Club. His passion is to coach children to play chess, learn to think ahead and gain many other benefits from learning chess. Jim has studied under Head Coach Steve Schneider, who is the author of curriculum, chess coach for over 25 years and a former classroom teacher. Jim has been involved with many youth programs in church and recently Boy Scouts, where his son just obtained Eagle Scout.
