More Young Writer's Express themselves in Poetry
FoxAge 9 Fox,
fox, in the wood, You
clasp the rat with tight-held paws. And
while you diligently wait, Your
second course comes toward your plate. Fox,
fox in the wood, Sleeping
fast with mud-caked fur. And
while you rest in your repose, A
wee ant nibbles on your toes.
I am the WindBy Michael Sweetser Age 10
I am the Wind, I blow the hats off your head on breezy winter days; I rearrange your hair while gliding through the air. I knock on the door and when you come I blow you down; I trample through your garden like an angry elephant; I am the Wind.
Christmas TimeCaitlin Laramee Age 9
In December, snow covers the ground like feathers from angel's wings. Snow flakes dance in the sky as I ride my sled down the snow covered mountains. I see people going to church while the church bells chime. I hear carolers sing like angels and sleigh bells ring. Every house is full of flashing and flickering lights I feel Jesus' burning love in my heart. For this is Christmas.
The RainBy Stephanie Age 10
I am the rain. I pour down on you, And pelt you with water. I slide down your windows. When I am glad I sprinkle lightly. When I am angry I crash down on you. I am the rain.
Trees and MeBy: Kelly Gordon Age 11
You sleep under my trunk And I shelter you from the harsh cold rain. When you are hungry I give you my sweet red apples. You climb up my branches to the bright blue sky. I am your home when you wish to be outside.
I am a Christmas AngelBy: Jordan Sweetser Age 10
I am a Christmas angel I sit at the top of your tree and stare down at all God has made. I look at the snow dancing down the window pane. I see the bright red and green presents underneath the tree. I peer over to the fire place and watch the flickering fire. My owners are drinking hot cocoa. Christmas carolers sing out the birth of Jesus. When it is time to open the presents I hear the children's laughter. The smiles that I see make me smile too. When it is time to put me away I am sad. But, I know next year will come again. This is Christmas time.
I am a Cheetah
By: Kyle Burnham Age 8
I am a cheetah I race across the Sahara Desert faster than a speeding car In search of my prey Anxiously I observe, waiting for the perfect meal. A 400 pound gazelle gallops into sight. I creep closer and closer, Finally, I am within striking distance. I leap out after the helpless creature sinking my razor sharp teeth into his neck Viciously, I hold on choking out every last breath. I am a Cheetah.
