Course Description

Experiencing Art

While the writer uses words to express and illustrate ideas, thoughts, feelings and reflections, the artist works with line, shape, color, form and texture to do much the same. This class will explore a unique connection between writing and art allowing kids the freedom to see words as pictures, pictures of words or simply word pictures.
Monday will be drawing, Tuesday-Collage, Wednesday-plaster casting, Thursday-painting, with Friday reserved for the final presentation. Each day students will illustrate thoughts, reflections, and impressions; words free of sentence and paragraph.
