Biography:
After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in English Education and a minor in history, Kari moved to San Antonio,
TX where she began her teaching career. While in San Antonio, she not only found the ideal job teaching high school English, she met her
husband, Brent. She taught PreAP English for 3 years at a magnet
high school and quickly grew to enjoy finding creative ways to instill a love of reading and writing in her students. After moving to Fort Worth in 2003 so Brent could finish seminary, Kari taught for 2 years at a lower income middle school. Her belief in using creative and artistic means to motivate students to learn was confirmed as she
watched her students come to love learning. After having her first child, Kari decided to stay home with her children and raise them while continuing to tutor both in English and for SAT prep a few evenings a week. She now has 2 daughters and truly enjoys teaching them all the little fun things that life has to offer.
