This class begins with a lesson on the nature of botany and
the process of classifying plants. We will also learn the development of plants
from seeds, the reproduction processes in plants, the way plants make their
food, and how plants get their water and nutrients and distribute them
throughout the body of the plant. As we study these topics, we will also learn
about many different kinds of plants in Creation and where these plants belong
in the plant classification system. As part of this class we will plant and care
for our own garden.
Students will need a 3-ring binder with pages and dividers.
Class Time: 1 1/2 hours - This is a two-14 week semester
totaling 7 months.
Biography:
Julie was born in South Dakota and after many corporate moves, her family relocated to Texas when Julie was 12. On graduating high-school she attended Angelo State University majoring in Journalism. After meeting and marrying Efren, they moved to Houston where Julie continued her studies at the University of Houston majoring in Accounting and Management. Two children later, Julie is now a homeschool Mom and has found her new love, teaching. Their family are active members of their church, and serve in a variety of roles, including teaching Sunday School. They have two sons, Robert, age 14 and Michael, age 11.
