General Science

Exploring Creation with General Science covers such topics as the scientific method, designing experiments, simple machines, archaeology, geology, paleontology, biology, and human anatomy and physiology. Its scope, therefore, is quite wide. Many hands-on experiments will make this class practical yet exciting .

Students who do not have a lot of experience taking tests which require them to truly master the course material might have trouble with this course at first. However, the study skills required for this course are absolutely essential for high school and beyond.

Class Time: 1 1/2 hours - This is a two-16 week semester totaling 8 months.

Biography:

Eric has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. While practicing as a registered nurse, Eric has homeschooled his three children, ages 7-11, but most recently he has been a full-time teacher at a private classical academy. Even as a nurse, Eric has always been drawn to the calling of teaching others, and he feels especially blessed to share this calling with young people.

Anatomy & Physiology

The Human Body, Fearfully and Wonderfully Made, is our advanced biology course. Combined with Exploring Creation With Biology, it gives the student the equivalent of a university biology course. In other words, these two courses together cover the entire "advanced placement" (AP) curriculum. In order to take this course, the student MUST have completed a first-year biology course AND a first-year chemistry course. It covers both the anatomy and the physiology of the human body’s 11 organ systems in detail.

Curriculum:

The Human Body: Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

The Anatomy Coloring Book

Class Time: 2 1/2 hours - This is a two-16 week semester totaling 8 months.
