Daniel

By John Camp

Daniel looked out with dark anger filled eyes, while his long black hair gently swayed in the mountain breeze. His tall built form waited impatiently for the day when Rosh would hold the Roman Empire in his fists. He could never bind with manacles the hatred that always seemed to come loose, when his life is interrupted by a Roman soldier. He feels he must help Rosh conquer the great Empire Rome, but his guilt is always reawakened, when thoughts of his Grandmother and sister cause a fracas against his conscience and will.

Jesus- Jesus looked out to the crowd, and for a second his gaze rested on me, immediately something wonderful and sweet filled my spirit. His eyes burned with interminable love and compassion, but when his gaze left me, tears filled my eyes. Through the tears, I saw in others, the same feeling that overwhelmed me. He then spoke with a mighty voice none could mistake, “The spirit of the Lord is upon me” with the incredible power of those words, I knew he was the Messiah

Rosh- Rosh’s stern commanding gaze fixed on his follower that stood uncomfortably, waiting for a direct order. Rosh was pleased that the man both feared and honored him. Rosh’s tall, well built body shot out orders to his men, who quickly leapt up, to carry out in the tasks. He glared at his men seeing them only as tools, to use for his benefit.

Leah- Leah’s thin frail body sat terrified in a dark corner. She allowed her messy, blonde hair to flow down over her eyes and face. Interminable fear flooded her heart, and tears steadily dripped out of her wet eyes. She allowed none to see her, except her Grandmother, brother Daniel, and her first friend Thacia. Through the days with Daniel and Thacia, Leah has learned to love life, and a fiery hope has been kindled inside her heart. She eagerly awaits answers to her childish questions.

Thacia- Thacia trotted through the Market, aware of all the beautiful sites and smells. Her tall, delicate form slowed to a walk, as her long, smooth hair flowed, along with her fine linen dress. Her clean, white skin and joyful loving eyes danced with life and peace. She gracefully strolled to a perfume stall, to buy a lovely smelling gift, for her friend Leah.
